Among Ottawa’s most sought after older suburbs, Alta Vista and Riverview Park are now considered very central, as they are highly accessible to downtown as well as a good variety of community and retail amenities. Characterized by smaller 1950s and 1960′s bungalows and two-story single detached homes, this mainly residential area is considered one of the most desirable in Ottawa. Many of these well located residences have been upgraded or remodeled, and are situated on very large lots, set well back from mature tree-lined streets with very few sidewalks.
